Gary sees New Saints make it Nine on the Trot

Following the ‘Loons’ seventh successive league victory at Broadwood yesterday, our ninth victory in successive games in competitive football, Gary Bollan and his first team coach Ian Flaherty headed south to watch our Irn Bru Cup opponents New Saints retain their one hundred per cent record in the Welsh Premier League with a 2-1 home win over Carmarthen Town this afternoon.
The victory came courtesy of a Greg Draper brace and saw the Saints move eight points clear of second placed GAP Connah’s Quay.
New Saints Manager Craig Harrison and his assistant Scott Ruscoe were interested spectators at Cumbernauld on Saturday, showing how seriously both teams are taking the fourth round clash.
The Welsh Champions will head north early on Friday week to their Dundee base and will train at Station Park in the late afternoon in preparation for the much anticipated tie due to kick-off at 3p.m. on the Saturday.
Of course prior to that fixture, Stuart Malcolm and his colleagues will be going all out to make it eight league wins from eight starts when Montrose come calling to Station Park for a mouth watering local derby this Saturday.
