MATCH DETAILS: Play-Off Semi Final
[Sunday, 07 May 2017 09:47]
All ‘Loons’ officials, players and supporters are waking up this morning to the fact that the Ladbrokes League 2 title has slipped through our grasp.
It is a ‘bitter pill’ to swallow for all connected with the club, the team having been in pole position for the vast majority of the season, but sadly not when the final ball was kicked.
We must now all work hard to get a smile back on our face quickly and re-group for a second ‘bite at the promotion cherry’ through the play-off route.
The ‘Loons’ make the long trek to Annan on Wednesday evening of this week to face Jim Chapman’s side again in the first leg of the semi final with the return leg due at Station Park this coming Saturday.
Wednesday’s fixture at Galabank will kick off at 7.45p.m. with the usual 3p.m. kick-off at Station Park on Saturday.
As was intimated from the outset of sales last summer, season tickets are not valid for the play-off fixtures.
In the circumstances, Athies officials have moved quickly to announce that admission charges for next Saturday’s fixture will be reduced to £10 for adults, £5 concessions (65&over and under 17’s).
Although time is short there are match sponsorship and hospitality packages available for Saturday and any interested party should make contact with David McGregor on 07871165689 or e mail This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
It is possible that a party smaller in number than the usual ten could be accommodated on the day if there is sufficient overall interst.
1984 Lounge opening hours for Saturday will be announced later in the week.
The Directors of Forfar Athletic acknowledge the tremendous support the management and players have enjoyed this season and they can only ask you to stick with us and hopefully Ladbrokes League 1 status can still be attained come May 20th.
The other semi final is between Montrose and Peterhead with the dates for the two legged final May 17th and 20th.
