Team News – Albion Rovers – Rovers go into the game minus Gary Fisher and top scorer Alan Trouten, both of whom serve a one match suspension on the totting up procedure. Kane Hester has also been recalled from his loan spell by parent club Arbroath.
Forfar Athletic – Manager Jim Weir will see the return of Mark Millar and Andy Munro to his squad. Mark missed last Saturday’s defeat to Stranraer through work commitments, while Andy has been an absentee over the last two weekends through suspension following his red card against Ayr United. Apart from long term injury victims Michael Kennedy and Marc Scott, the remainder of the pool are fit and available with for a change in recent times, no suspensions causing disruption to the manager’s final selection.
Match Officials – Referee – Steven Reid Assistants – Ross Haswell & Kevin McElhinney
Summary – A huge game for both clubs. A win for the ‘Loons’ would see them move seven points clear of their opponents with three games remaining. However a win for the Rovers will have obvious consequences for the Athies at the ‘business’ end of the season. The previous two meetings between the sides have yielded an astonishing 13 goals, but this one on what is likely to be played on a tricky surface is unlikely to be so open. Both teams will also be keeping a close eye on events at Hampden, where Queens Park also on 27 points entertain East Fife.
Current Form Guide – Albion Rovers have drawn one and lost four of their last five games. Forfar Athletic have won two and lost three of their last five games.
