Summary – The ‘Loons’ will look to build on last week’s solid performance against Ayr United when Championship outfit Morton role up in what is the home club’s second pre-season outing.   For Morton it is their fist public test under the management of Ray MacKinnon at the end of a week which began with the funeral of their long time Chairman and owner Douglas Rae.   Forfar will welcome back Dale Hilson, but Matthew Aitken and Michael Kennedy are both ruled out with what could be long term injuries.   Manager Jim Weir back from his Iron Man Challenge in Austria is likely to include a couple of trialists in the home ranks.

The new man at the helm at Cappielow has brought in eight close season recruits to date, goalkeeper Ryan Scully from Partick being joined by Chris Millar, Greg Buchanan, Jim McAllister, Denny Johnstone, Charlie Telfer, Ross MacLean and Kerr Waddell, the latter two on temporary transfers from Motherwell and Dundee respectively.

Although one does not read to much into pre-season fixture results, this match against a full time outfit should indeed on paper prove a real test for the home side who have had another two excellent training sessions under their belts since last Saturday’s ninety minutes in the sunshine.

No match programmes are being printed for pre-season fixtures.   However complimentary team sheets will be available in the 1984 Lounge, at the Club Shop and the Refreshment Kiosk.

Fixture cards will also be available free of charge at all three venues.
