Summary – The ‘Loons’ head for Links Park on Saturday for their third Angus derby in as many weeks, still looking for their first victory of the month. Their opponents are in fact in the same position, their two wins to date secured in August against Airdrieonians and Brechin City.
Forfar head into Saturday’s fixture on the back of a 1-1 draw at home to Brechin and they will hope to carry their form and intensity of the final twenty minutes against City into the clash with the ‘Gable Endies.’
The Station Park outfit have no fresh injury worries with only Michael Kennedy definitely ruled out. They will hope to welcome back Hearts loanee Lewis Moore to the squad after he was ruled out last weekend.
Montrose managed of course by former Station Park favourite Stewart Petrie relied heavily this term perhaps not surprisingly on the pool of players who clinched the Ladbrokes League 2 title last season.
In fact, Ryan Harrington on loan from Aberdeen and Patrick Cregg who spent the first half of last season at Station Park were the only summer recruits in their starting line-up as the Links Park side picked up a well-merited point from their visit to Raith Rovers last Saturday.
Another tense encounter looks likely to be on the cards this Saturday with it would appear little to choose between the sides.
