Summary – The ‘Loons’ welcome the ‘Sons’ to Station Park for a league fixture for the first time since February of 2012 this Saturday with the players no doubt very keen to put the first period collapse at Glebe Park last Saturday well behind them.
Up until Andy Jackson’s opener for City, Forfar had looked the more likely side to take the lead and of course, an opportunity to do so from the penalty spot was denied by Connor Brennan’s excellent stop.
Jim Weir has listed an unchanged starting eleven for the past three fixtures. He may well stick with that line-up, but no doubt in the light of last week’s defeat, a change or two to freshen things up may be in his mindset.
There are no fresh injuries to report, so the same squad of seventeen is at the manager’s disposal.
Dumbarton travel north for what is their third consecutive away fixture in Angus, Arbroath and Montrose having won the previous two by score line’s of 3-1 and 1-0 respectively.
However, they have won their last two home games, a convincing 4-0 win over East Fife being followed by a 2-1 success over Stenhousemuir last weekend courtesy of cracking strike from Kilmarnock loanee Dom Thomas.
Former Forfar custodian Grant Adam is currently on the injured list and unavailable to new manager Jim Duffy who replaced the long-serving Stephen Aitken three weeks back.
The Athies recorded a fairly comfortable victory at the C&G Stadium on the second Saturday of the campaign, but there is little doubt that they will have to be at their best if they are to consolidate their top four placing this time round.
