SPFL Release Fixtures – It’s the ‘Diamonds’ again!

The SPFL fixtures for the season ahead have been released this morning and amazingly for the third year running Forfar Athletic will face Airdrieonians on the opening day of the Ladbrokes League 1 campaign, although unlike the last two seasons this time around the fixture will be played at the Penny Cars Stadium.

That joust with Ian Murray’s side who will, of course, have Adam Eckersley in their ranks is followed by two successive home games against Stranraer and East Fife.

The first local derby against Montrose is on Saturday, September 21^st at Station Park, with the second visit of the ‘Gable Endies’ to the ‘toonie’ due over the festive period.

Relegated Falkirk will host the ‘Loons’ at the Falkirk Stadium on September 14^th, while on the last day of the season the Athies will make the long haul south to Stranraer, their previous visit to Stair Park due on the Saturday prior to Christmas.
