Tunnocks Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup

The ‘Loons’ will head to Links Park for a second cup tie joust of the season with the ‘Gable Endies’ on Tuesday, August 13^th.

That evening Montrose and Forfar Athletic will go head to head in the second round of the re-branded Tunnocks Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup.

At the draw earlier this afternoon, the SPFL announced the new sponsorship deal with the Uddingston based family firm who replace longtime sponsors of the tournament Barrs Irn Bru.

The draw probably does not suit either club as their Betfred Cup tie apart, they are also due to clash on league duty on the 21^st of September at Station Park on that occasion.

However, on the plus side, there will no major midweek travel worries.

In a change to the format of the competition, this time around all League One sides and the majority of the League Two outfits do not enter the tournament until the second round, with the Championship clubs due enter the fray along with the English, Irish and Welsh clubs who have qualified at the third round stage.
