Tunnocks Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup

Along with 27 other clubs from the SPFL, Highland League, Lowland League, not forgetting a fair smattering of Premiership Under 21 sides, the ‘Loons’ will participate next midweek in the second round of the Tunnocks Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup.
For Jim Weir and his players, it means despite only being five weeks into the competitive campaign, a second derby of the season at Links Park against Stewart Petrie’s Montrose sid
The game is scheduled for Tuesday the 13th of August with a 7.45p.m. kick-off.
Following twelve first-round ties this week, the full second round draw now reads;-
North Section
Brechin City v Elgin City, Brora Rangers v Cove Rangers, East Fife v Stirling Albion, Hearts Colts v Cowdenbeath, Montrose v Forfar Athletic, Peterhead v Formartine United, Ross County Colts v Raith Rovers
South Section
Annan Athletic v Kelty Hearts, Clyde v Motherwell Colts, Dumbarton v St. Mirren Colts, Falkirk v Celtic Colts, Hamilton Accies Colts v Airdrieonians, Stenhousemuir v Edinburgh City, Stranraer v Rangers Colts
The third round stage of the competition is scheduled for the weekend of 6th/8th September.
At that juncture, the fourteen winners from next week’s ties are joined by the ten Championship clubs and the eight clubs from outwith Scotland.
This season they are;-
Wrexham and Solihull Moors from the English National League
New Saints and Connah’s Quay Nomads from the Welsh Premier League
Bohemians and Waterford from the League of Ireland
Ballymena United and Glenavon from the Northern Ireland Football League.
