Summary – Peterhead and Forfar Athletic will make a second attempt on Tuesday evening to play their vital Ladbrokes League One encounter, this after the game just over two weeks ago was abandoned by referee Steven Reid after thirty minutes due to high winds.
Hopefully, the current weather forecast for fairly settled conditions on the Buchan coast tomorrow night bears fruit and the game goes ahead as scheduled, especially with the ‘Loons’ fixture at Dumbarton on Saturday past also falling foul of the weather conditions.
Saturday’s results went well for Forfar with Peterhead, Clyde and Stranraer all losing, but as all know it is what you eventually achieve yourselves on the field of play that will count at the end of the day, hopefully starting at the Balmoor Stadium.
The Athies players headed for Station Park on Saturday afternoon for a two-hour training session to keep them ticking over in advance of this week’s fixtures, East Fife the visitors to the ‘toonie’ on Saturday in what will now be a busy week.
Stuart Malcolm will have a seventeen man pool to pick from tomorrow night, with Michael Travis’s injury now looking like he will be long term absentee, while loanee Ryan Shanley remains sidelined.
The home side have lost both games since the abandoned fixture, a 1-0 reverse at East Fife being followed by a 2-0 home defeat from Airdrie on Saturday past.
Luc Bollan son of our former manager Gary made his ‘Blue Toon’ debut in that fixture having signed from Aberdeen on a temporary transfer last week.
