League Leaders at Station Park tomorrow
[Friday, 26 March 2021 20:12]
The ‘Loons’ begin a spell of a minimum of 8 games in 24 days when SPFL League One leaders Falkirk visit Station Park tomorrow for the first league fixture to be played in the ‘toonie’ since Boxing Day.
The ‘Bairns’ will head north in great spirits after their victory over Montrose last weekend saw then open up a four-point gap at the top of the table over Cove Rangers, following this up with their midweek cup success at Gayfield which saw them clinch a third-round tie at Celtic Park.
The home side though will also go into the match buoyed by their away victory at Dumbarton last Saturday which lifted them off bottom spot in the table and the new look Athies side will be giving it their all no doubt in an attempt to record their first home league victory of the campaign.
Thankfully there are no new injury worries to report on the Station Park front with the latest acquisition Scott Fenwick expected to make his debut.
The game is the first of three successive home Saturday fixtures for Stuart Malcolm’s side in league and cup sadly still behind closed doors, but three-midweek games will also be fitted into that spell, two of them away from home.
There is little doubt that the pool of players now assembled by the management team will be well tested over the period.
Steven Reid the man in the middle tomorrow handles a Forfar fixture for the first time this season.
The other League One games scheduled for tomorrow afternoon are;- Airdrieonians v Partick Thistle, Dumbarton v Peterhead, East Fife v Cove Rangers, Montrose v Clyde
