’Loons’ head for Firhill tonight
[Tuesday, 30 March 2021 10:05]
Stuart Malcolm and his squad commence a spell of five competitive games in eleven days with a visit to in form Partick Thistle this evening.
The game for the Athies squad comes on the back of their 2-0 defeat to league leaders Falkirk at Station Park on Saturday past, a match in which they battled hard for ninety minutes without really troubling the ‘Bairns’ keeper, in the end losing out as has been well documented through unaccustomed individual errors on the day.
Forfar head west this evening thankfully with no new injury worries, but they may be minus a key player due to work commitments.
However, the manager is hoping to build on the plus factors from Saturday’s game in which quite a few of the new faces in the side had promising home debuts.
Partick have returned to action with two wins and a draw in competitive action, including an impressive 4-2 victory at Airdrie on Saturday past.
They sit eight points behind leaders Falkirk, but with a game in hand.
All connected with the ‘Loons’ know that victories are a must if they are to move clear of the bottom two spots in the three ‘horse’ dog fight with Clyde and Dumbarton, at the foot of the table, both the ‘Bully Wee’ and the ‘Sons’ having two league fixtures this midweek.
David Lowe is in charge of tonight’s game in Glasgow.
Tonight’s other League One fixtures are;- Cove Rangers v Airdrieonians, Falkirk v Dumbarton, Montrose v East Fife, Peterhead v Clyde
