Cowdenbeath v Forfar Athletic – match preview
[Monday, 14 March 2022 10:44]
The ‘Loons’ will try to get their season back on track when they visit Central Park on Tuesday evening to meet a Cowdenbeath side who currently sit in tenth spot in the cinch league2 table, seven points adrift of Albion Rovers.
On the back of two defeats and a draw in their last three league games, Gary Irvine is again likely to be without the services of the handful of players who were absent on Saturday past due to covid and injury, so his options to freshen up the starting line-up for the clash will be limited.
As for the home side, Maurice Ross’s charges will be desperate to start picking up points with games running out. To date this month they have suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to neighbours Kelty, before losing 2-1 at Stirling and 3-0 on Saturday past at Stranraer.
This will be the third meeting between the sides this term, a 1-1 draw the outcome at Central Park in September, three late goals from Andy Munro, Mark Gallagher and Matty Aitken clinching all three points for the home side at Station Park in November.
The sides will meet again on Saturday week when the Fifers will head for Station Park on that occasion.
The referee tomorrow night for what on current form looks likely to be a tight and tense affair is Graham Beaton.
The kick-off is at 7.45 p.m.
