1984 Lounge
The 1984 Lounge at the ground will be open from 12.30 p.m. to 2.45 p.m. and again on the final whistle till approx 8p.m
The Heart of Midlothian v Hibernian Scottish Cup Semi-Final will be shown live on the wide screen tv prior to kick-off
The Refreshment Kiosk will be open as usual at Saturday’s fixture as will the Club Shop situated at the rear of the East Terracing.
50/50 tickets will be on sale from vendors in the ground and within the 1984 Lounge.
PREVIEW
There is no hiding from the fact that the ‘Loons’ head into a match in the must-win category on Saturday if they are to maintain hopes of finishing in the runners-up spot in the cinch league2 come April 30th.
The current incumbents of that spot Annan Athletic are the visitors to Station Park and the Galabank outfit go into the fixture with a four-point lead over the home side.
This fixture is also likely to be the first of three games between the teams over the next three weeks, it looking likely though not a certainty that they will also clash head-on in the two-legged League One Play-Off semi-final in the first week of May month.
Forfar will go into Saturday’s game with a major injury headache to cope with.
Andy Munro such a stalwart in defence all season and a scorer of vital goals at the other end into the bargain will sit out the fixture with knee ligament damage the diagnosis following the injury which saw him stretchered from the field of play in the last quarter at Edinburgh City.
As is so often the case it was all so innocuous at the time. However it looks as if it will be a race against time to get Andy fit for action prior to the end of the campaign but it is a race the big defender will be desperate to win.
Sam Fisher is the likely replacement for Saturdays’ contest, while on the plus side for Gary Irvine, Kyle Hutton and PJ Crossan should make their return to the match day squad.
Like their opponents, Annan’s form has been slightly mixed in recent weeks with away wins at Stenhousemuir and Stirling sandwiched in between home defeats from Albion Rovers and Cowdenbeath.
In fact the league’s bottom side triumphed 3-2 at Galabank last week, Tony Wallace the scorer of both goals for Peter Murphy’s side.
The Athies will also hope to build on an impressive record so far this season against Annan with seven points gained out of a possible nine to date.
Back on the opening day of the season a 2-0 success was recorded in Dumfriesshire, a similar result the outcome at Station Park in October.
Then in mid January back at Annan the sides fought out a 2-2 draw, the ‘Loons’ scores on that occasion Andy Munro and Craig Slater.
Following Saturday’s clash, Forfar have a visit to Kelty and a home game with Stenhousemuir to look forward to, Annan’s final two league fixtures, an away match at Edinburgh City followed by a visit from Kelty.
All to play for without a doubt on Saturday and hopefully the home side will rise to the challenge with the backing of the home faithful.
