The ‘Loons’ can confirm details of pre-season training plans and also the confirmation of three pre-season friendly fixtures.
Pre-season training will commence on Saturday, June 18th over at a location in Fife.
All going well with the completion of the new playing surface project which currently it has to be said is on schedule, our first friendly fixture will be staged at Station Park on Tuesday 28th June when Dunfermline Athletic will be the visitors, the kick-off on this occasion 7.30 p.m.
By a strange coincidence, the ‘Pars’ also christened the old 3G surface back in July of 2012, although on this occasion it was a Challenge Cup tie.
The Athies again face League One opposition on Saturday, July 2nd when they head to the Indodrill Stadium to face Alloa Athletic.
The kick-off in Clackmannanshire will be 2 p.m.
Then on Wednesday 6th July a complete change of opposition for the ‘Loons.’
On that evening with a 7.45 p.m. kick-off, our guests will be the Washington Huskies, the ‘soccer’ team of the University of Washington based in Seattle in Washington State in the USA.
One of the top varsity football sides in the USA, the Huskies are embarking on a five-game two week tour of Scotland in late June.
They compete in the Pac-12 Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association and they must certainly be happy with their head coach Jamie Clark who is in his ninth year in charge and has just had his contract extended to 2027!
This will be their second trip to foreign fields in recent times having represented the USA in an international varsity tournament in Brazil in 2018.
Further details of the above fixtures along with admission arrangements will be advised in due course.
Manager Gary Irvine may add a fourth game to the list, prior to the opening Premier Sports Group H clash away to Queens Park on July 12th.
