Forfar Athletic v Dumbarton
[Monday, 09 January 2023 20:47]
Following on from their superb victory at Annan on Saturday past, the ‘Loons’ return to Station Park this coming Saturday when cinch league2 leaders Dumbarton will provide the opposition in what is undoubtedly the Match of the Day in the fourth tier of the SPFL.
The reason for the billing is quite simple as the sides currently sit first and second in the league2 form guide based on their last six league fixtures.
The ‘Sons’ have accrued fourteen points from their last half dozen encounters, while Forfar have picked up eleven over a similar period, one more than Stirling Albion and Annan Athletic.
Disappointing news for Athies fans however on the injury front this early in the week. Tomas Brindley’s injury sustained early in the second half of the Galabank contest has been diagnosed as a saphoid fracture of the wrist.
Ray McKinnon as stated in his after match interview on Saturday is leaving no stone unturned in his quest for further new faces to bolster his slightly depleted squad prior to the much anticipated visit of Steve Farrell and his squad, the sides having shared the spoils in both previous encounters this campaign.
A full preview of the match will appear on our social media channels later in the week.
