Thank You

Another three points under our belt yesterday thanks in the main to a sterling second-half performance and our SPFL status secured.
This was of course the initial target when Ray McKinnon arrived at the club in early November with the Athies sitting in the dreaded tenth spot in the table and certainly, no one could have imagined then that we would be heading into the final handful of matches in the cinch league2 occupying a playoff spot.
First and foremost today therefore a thank you to the management and backroom team along with the playing staff for their efforts over the last five months.
Thanks also to the supporters who yet again stuck with the players during sticky, slightly nervy periods in the first half of yesterday’s match and were rewarded with a victory by the final whistle.
Rest assured that support in the five ‘cup finals’ to come will play a vital part.
A big thank you to our match sponsor yesterday Scott Brown of Scott G. Brown Opticians in East Kilbride.
Scott who has distant family connections to the area has been a great supporter of the ‘Loons’ cause over the years and all were delighted to see his party have their usual highly enjoyable day with the reward of a victory into the bargain before they headed home on their two hour coach trip.
Craig Slater was their choice as Forfar’s Man of the Match.
Thanks also to Graeme Campbell, Billy Douglas, Bruce Gordon and George Patullo who organised groups within the main hospitality lounges on the day, all return and most welcome patrons.
Finally thanks to Iain Hedley and his mates from south of the border as well as a few from nearer hand who supported the 1984 Lounge package.
Trips to Stranraer and Elgin now lie ahead before Bonnyrigg Rose provide the opposition at Station Park on April 22nd.
