1984 Lounge
The 1984 Lounge at the ground will be open to FAFC supporters, sponsors and hospitality guests, as well as visiting club officials only from 12.30 p.m. to 2.50 p.m. and again to all on the final whistle till approx 8 p.m.
The Refreshment Kiosk will be open as usual at the fixture while the Club Shop situated at the rear of the East Terracing will be open prior to kick-off only on this occasion.
50/50 tickets will be on sale from vendors in the ground and within the 1984 Lounge.
PREVIEW
The 2022/3 season reaches its conclusion for all of a ‘Loons’ persuasion with the visit of East Fife to Station Park on Saturday.
For the home side a victory will secure fifth place in the cinch league2 table and although missing out on the end of season play-offs has been a disappointment in recent weeks, such a lofty position was as has been well documented a distant dream for the Station Park outfit back in early November.
However the wrong combination of results tomorrow could see the Athies drift out to a final seventh place standing and the management and players will not wish this to be the case and will no doubt be determined to end a four game winless run.
A victory would also reward the dedicated regular Station Park fan base who have played such an important part in the success this season, a fact not lost on manager Ray McKinnon who has constantly acknowledged that fact.
For a few of the home side naturally the loan quintet included, it will be their last game in the ‘Loons’ colours and they too will hope to go out with a bang!
To those who will be moving to pastures new or back to their parent clubs thanks for your dedication and effort and every best wish for the future.
Back to the clash with Fifers and as ever it will be no easy task securing the points against Greig McDonald’s side who secured a play-off spot with their win over Albion Rovers last weekend.
That statement is backed up by the obvious statistic that the home side on Saturday has so far failed to pick up a point in three league outings to date between the sides.
Remarkably a last-minute goal has sealed victory for the Methil outfit in both clashes at the New Bayview, while back in early Autumn, the visitors headed back over the Tay with a comfortable 3-1 win ‘under their belts.’
One or two of the home squad are nursing end-of-season niggles while Darren Whyte remains an absentee.
The visitors go into the game still hoping to secure third spot in the league rankings, Annan Athletic at present one point ahead of them, so they would require assistance from Stenhousemuir to attain that position come 5 p.m. on Saturday night.
It will be no doubt a difficult but welcome problem for the Fifers management team trying to balance that aim alongside preparation for a first leg play-off semi only 72 hours away.
Hopefully it will be an entertaining ninety minutes culminating in a home victory at the end of what has without doubt been a season for Forfar Athletic of sleepless nights for all in the first half of the campaign, followed by happier times as the New Year dawned.
The ‘Loons’ Player of the Year awards will be presented in an on-pitch ceremony in the aftermath of the final whistle on Saturday when it is hoped that supporters will stay on to record their appreciation to the winners.
Lloyd Wilson is the referee on Saturday his first visit of the season to Station Park.
