SPFL League One
The Loons left Firhill last night with a point, the least they deserved after an excellent performance in all areas of the pitch. New signing Scott Fenwick scored both the Forfar goals and loanee Callum Moore almost secured the win with a long-range strike that came off the bar. The Jags came from behind twice with goals from Connor Murray and Brian Graham to deny the Loons the three points.
Manager Stuart Malcolm was delighted with the overall effort and performance but disappointed not to be heading he with the three points.
“We should have won the game, no question. The lads were great all over the pitch and we had a number of one-on-ones as well as Scotty (Fenwick) scoring two brilliant goals. We’ve hit the bar at the end which could have won it for us.
"Yes we’ve had to defend unbelievably well at times and we make one mistake for the second goal, but if someone had said before the game that we would get a point we would have taken it. But I’m bitterly disappointed we haven’t taken all three. That tells you everything.
“We’re battling away to get to eighth. It’s a mini-league between ourselves, Clyde and Dumbarton. Whoever puts some form together will find themselves quickly out of that position. So our aim is to get to eighth. We are confident we can do it and our form has been pretty positive since the turn of the year with three wins, a draw and one defeat on Saturday past vs Falkirk.
"We have the (Scottish) Cup this Saturday so our thoughts turn to that match. But next Tuesday we will be back at it working hard to build on this performance tonight."
