Forfar signed off at Station Park for the season with a comfortable victory over Stranraer.
It took just three minutes for the Loons to take the lead. A cross was turned towards goal by Josh Skelly. The Stranraer keeper made a save but Mark Whatley was on hand to scramble in his second of the season.
The Loons were in control and almost doubled their advantage in the tenth minute. Josh Skelly fired Tyler Mykyta’s cross narrowly over the bar.
Finn Robson was next to try his luck after Mykyta broke in to the box but he could only fire in to the side netting.
Player of the year Stuart Morrison was next to try his luck and he made no mistake when he got on the end of Mykyta’s cross, heading in to the side netting for his 10th of the season.
Robson, Mykyta, McLean and Skelly all tried their luck before the end of the half as the Loons went in thoroughly in the driving seat.
Mark Whatley nearly repeated his first half heroics shortly after the restart as the Loons continued to push.
Finlay Allan was next to have a great opportunity shortly after he came on before Finn Robson was denied by the impressive Stranraer keeper.
Nditi and Inglis then saw shots saved before the Tanzanian tried a long ranger with the last opportunity of the game but it was just too high.
The win moved Forfar up in to sixth place, with the opportunity to move above East Fife should results go in our favour on the last day.
