MATCH PREVIEW: Forfar Athletic v Nairn County
[Thursday, 13 July 2017 21:03]
While thirty two clubs begin their quest for Betfred League Cup glory this weekend, Forfar Athletic are one of the eight sides whose ‘rest’ day coincides with the opening set of fixtures.
The ‘Loons’ will therefore complete their pre-season preparations with a visit from Highland League Nairn County.
Although you never read too much into pre-season performances or for that matter results, Manager Gary Bollan and his staff not to mention the supporters will be hoping for an improved showing from the ‘Loons’ this Saturday following disappointing outings against Formartine and particularly when Inverurie Loco Works were in town on Tuesday past.
The manager is working tirelessly to bring in another couple of new faces to augment his squad prior to the game and obviously in preparation for next Tuesday’s trip to Glebe Park.
Nairn managed by Ronnie Sharp finished in mid table in last season’s Highland League and they have already welcomed to their own Station Park earlier in the month SPFL opponents St. Mirren and Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Referee on Saturday is Aberdonian Alex Shepherd.
Saturday’s game has the usual 3p.m. kick-off and admission prices are £6 for adults, £3 concessions.
Forfar Athletic season tickets are valid for the fixture and will be on sale in the 1984 Lounge from 2.15p.m. till kick-off.
The lounge itself will be open from 1.30p.m. till kick-off and for an hour after the final whistle. All supporters welcome.
As has been the case at all pre-season fixtures, a limited number of team sheets as well as fixture cards will be available pre-match in the lounge and at the Refreshment Kiosk.
The Club shop will also be open for business.
