Early Start to 2018/19 Campaign

The SPFL yesterday issued confirmed starting dates for the 2018/19 season and again it is an early start which has not been appreciated by all for officials, players and supporters alike.
The Betfred Cup, the League Cup to ‘old’ timers will again be played initially on a sectional basis with five teams in each group and will commence on Saturday July 14th, concluding fourteen days later.
The Ladbrokes League campaign will get underway with a full round of fixtures on Saturday August 4th.
The Irn Bru Cup, the Challenge Cup competition for which the format for next term has yet to be full decided and confirmed will commence with first round ties on Tuesday and Wednesday the 14th/15th of August.
