Station Park hosts Tayside’s only Senior Fixture
[Wednesday, 27 February 2019 09:42]
There is a strange fixture scenario on Saturday first due to a combination of circumstances when Station Park will unusually host the only senior game in Tayside.
How often has that happened over the years?
Hopefully this will be a wee boost to the crowd figure for the game with fellow play-off hopefuls East Fife and certainly on the evidence of some of the recent match day action at Station Park, neutrals or football lovers who decide to head for the ‘toonie’ will hopefully not be disappointed with the fare on offer.
Saturday’s almost unique situation comes about due to our three fellow Angus Ladbrokes League 1 clubs being away from home. League leaders Arbroath head for Dumbarton, Brechin are at Stenhousemuir in a vital clash at the wrong end of the table, while Montrose do battle with Airdrie at the Penny Cars Stadium.
Further up the ‘tree’, Dundee United host Inverness Caledonian Thistle in their Scottish Cup quarter-final on Sunday afternoon, while because of the cup ties and their earlier exits, Dundee and St. Johnstone are not in action this weekend.
So there you have it. An invite to all Tayside football lovers. Head for Station Park and see what the Ladbrokes League 1 has to offer.
Admission prices are £15/14 for adults, £9/8 for concessions and £5 for under 17’s.
