Previous Result this season – Forfar Athletic 1 East Fife 2 at Station Park on Saturday 7th September
Summary – The ‘Loons’ head over to Bayview on Saturday to meet an East Fife side sitting second in the league table following an excellent first quarter of the season in which they have won four and drawn five of their nine league games to date.
That record includes a 2-1 victory at Station Park in a re-arranged game in early September, this after both sides were involved in last sixteen ties in the Betfred Cup on the original match date. Ross Forbes netted the home side’s counter that afternoon, Scott Agnew and Anton Dowds on the mark for Darren Young’s side.
It has been another eventful week at Station Park, but all thoughts now turn to improving on a recent competitive record of four points from the last seven league fixtures.
Jim Weir is still without three key players for the fixture with Dale Hilson, Andy Jackson and Murray MacKintosh ruled out through injury.
Thankfully Hearts loanee Rory Currie is fit and Scott Robertson also returns to the squad, following a four-week spell on the sidelines.
The Forfar support usually head over to Methil in reasonable numbers and hopefully, the two week break from competitive action will have added a freshness to the squad and they can return to points collecting duty, especially with home games against Airdrieonians and Falkirk on the horizon.
