Day Five on the "Trip to Dingwall" Cycle Challenge
[Wednesday, 05 August 2020 12:08]
We are now on day five of the Club’s “Trip to Dingwall 2020” cycle event with 21 individuals/families taking part in the 150-mile challenge for the month of August.
A huge thank you to everyone who is cycling to support the Loons - by all accounts, the miles are already spinning by as they head towards the 150-mile target on the road and are also in the sight of the fundraising goal.
We will post weekly updates about their progress towards the ‘finishing line’ and will hopefully be able to share a few photos of the adventures (and even better the cake stops!!).
Even if you are not able to take part on a bike you can lend your support to those who are breaking a sweat for the Loons by making a donation at our crowdfunding page: https://bit.ly/2Pmpnwa
All donations in support of this venture will help the Club as we prepare to get back to action on the pitch, all going well, in early October. It has been well reported how difficult it is a present for businesses large and small and Forfar Athletic is no exception. All at Station Park are working hard to ensure we can return to football in safe manner come October but we could not do this without the amazing support we have had from supporters far and wide.
We are extremely grateful to the businesses and individuals who are sponsoring this particular event:
The Chippy, Blairgowrie & Coupar Angus
Garry Balfour, Painter & Decorator
Gary Balfour, GB coaching 1-2-1
Colin M Smith
Lee Hutcheon, Painter & Decorator

Why 150 Miles?
This fundraising event in aid of Club funds has been set up to mark the 25th anniversary of our league win in Dingwall with the participants aiming to cycle 150 miles to support the team just as a number of us did way in 1995. Back then supporters of all ages travelled to watch the Loons and support them when it was needed most.
For the 2020 cycle event we are coming together once again to support the Club in a different hour of need, but still with the aim to travel the 150 miles. Due to current restrictions, we cannot cycle to Dingwall in the current circumstances and so this is a 150-mile challenge for the month of August to match the distance to Dingwall. Some cyclists will exceed this target and some may do less but as a “team” we aim to average the 150 miles and be in Dingwall (virtually) by the end of August. Some might even cycle far enough to get back home again!
