Resumption of Football

As most supporters will know, the Scottish Government yesterday gave the go-ahead for clubs in the SPFL League One and Two and also the SWPFL top tier to resume in the first instance training, then the playing of matches, following a seven-week suspension period due to the covid pandemic.
Consequently, talks involving the twenty SPFL clubs involved went on well into the night on Tuesday to determine whether the original 27 match league programme which commenced in October of last year could still be completed by early May alongside participation in the Scottish Cup. Other alternative ideas and fixture pathways were mooted to be taken back by the representatives for consideration by their clubs over the ensuing 24 hours.
Another meeting is planned for this evening and rest assured ‘Loons’ supporters will be kept informed through the club’s social media platforms once any ‘concrete’ news is forthcoming.
Certainly, at present, the plan is for the Athies playing squad to be back in full training by the weekend following midweek covid testing.
