One Hundred Not Out for Ross and Murray
[Saturday, 17 April 2021 10:41]
Congratulations to one of our longest-serving players Murray Mackintosh who reached the 100 game mark a few games ago in this hectic schedule of fixtures. Murray played his 105th game for Forfar Athletic last night, having signed a professional contract in 2016. Murray first joined the Club as part of the Development set up and was a member of the title-winning Development League East side in 2015/16. As a member of the senior squad, Murray has made 88 starts and 17 appearances from the bench scoring eight goals.
Last night marked the 100th game for Ross Meechan who captained the side in the Scottish Cup Fourth Round tie vs Dundee United. Ross joined the Loons in the summer of 2018 and has been almost ever-present since then with 99 starts and one appearance from the bench. It was a memorable season and tremendous feat in 2018-19 when Ross played every second of every match (45 in total) in the campaign which saw Forfar finish second in the league just missing out on promotion via the play-offs. Everyone at Station Park would like to congratulate Ross on reaching the 100 mark and to see him play many more times for the Club.
Both Ross and Murray are top professionals on and off the pitch – always willing to assist with any Club activities. Their hard work and determination have made them firm favourites with the supporters.
The Club marked their achievements with a presentation to both players by Chairman Scott Murdie.
