Medical Assistance Required

The ‘noose around the neck’ of clubs at SPFL1/2 level in regard to covid restrictions has sadly only been slackened ever so slightly as we approach the start of a new campaign.
Apart from the fact that we should be in a position to admit a small number of home supporters with the agreement of various authorities, the only other change amongst the myriad of procedures that the clubs will have to comply with comes is in regard to covid testing.
Scottish football’s Joints Response Group have now advised the clubs that instead of one PCR test per week, lateral flow testing will have to be carried out on three occasions a week going forward by both coaching staff and players.
Though there is a cost-saving to clubs in this regard, the burden on part-time clubs in particular to oversee and document the strict protocols required are considerable to say the least.
As a consequence, Forfar Athletic are looking to recruit in the first instance, a suitably qualified medical person or clinician to assist with the management of the programme and other covid related issues.
This may be a post that would suit someone recently retired or otherwise from their post in the medical profession.
The club has no idea at present how long this assistance will be required for in what is an ever-evolving scenario.
