Station Park Match Day Hospitality
[Tuesday, 07 September 2021 16:32]
It has become clear following various discussions and communications received from the Joint Response Group of the SFA/SPFL that the two-metre social distancing ruling though not applying these days in general society is to remain in place for the immediate future and potentially the remainder of the season as far as dressing room/changing facility areas are concerned within the game at the professional level in Scotland.
Though the logic behind the decision cannot in some ways be argued, this is a big blow to many clubs, Forfar Athletic most certainly included who have been utilising boardroom and hospitality lounge space for these purposes since the resumption of the game some twelve months back.
However the Station Park Directors have over the past couple of weeks been actively looking into the potential for the hire and installation at no little cost it has to be said of temporary dressing room accommodation which can be sited within the ground to accommodate the away team and staff, at the same time freeing up the hospitality lounges for their normal match day ‘vocation.’
An order has now been placed for these buildings to be installed and to be in good working order by the end of the current month.
They will be situated in the area currently utilised for the storage of the training goals in front of the hospitality complex, but hopefully will not cause any viewing obstruction to stand patrons.
If these buildings are required for the remainder of the season, the cost will run into five figures and will obviously, therefore, impact the revenue received from the sale of the hospitality itself.
Club officials would certainly be interested in hearing from any company or individual who might be interested in assisting with this cost be as part of a sponsorship package or alternative.
Any interested party should simply make contact with any Forfar Athletic Director or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
All going well though and no doubt to the delight of patrons we should be in a position to re-launch the Station Park Hospitality Experience from the visit of Annan Athletic on Saturday, October 16th onwards.
There is of course a big problem to overcome in the remainder of this campaign.
Due to one of the four lounges being required as a temporary boardroom on match days as well as an admin hub, there will only be 42 packages available for the 14 fixtures scheduled from October to May as against the 72 in a normal 18 game league season.
Discussions are still ongoing as to how the club is to manage the booking and allocation process, but all parties who booked a package in the truncated 2019/20 season will be contacted within the next seven days with an update.
Obviously, at present, the club is unable to consider requests from potential new customers but their time will come.
In the meantime, the Directors of Forfar Athletic Football Club would ask for patience and, to be honest understanding of the difficult situation they face in this regard as they strive to continue to bring more normality back to the matchday scenario with more worryingly no sign of new covid case numbers reducing.
The most important message to all ‘Loons’ supporters is – Continue to stay safe and well.
