Scottish Cup Second Round Draw

The draw for the second round of this season’s Scottish Cup will be made by the manager of the holders St. Johnstone Calum Davidson at 11.30a.m. on Sunday morning at Hampden Park.
Along with the other nine cinch league2 clubs, Forfar Athletic will be in the ‘hat’ alongside eventually the thirty non league sides who have come through first round ties scheduled throughout this current weekend.
The second round ties are due to be played over the weekend of 22nd/25th October.
Supporters can watch Sunday’s second round draw live by any of three options. It will be featured on the Scottish Cup You Tube channel as well as on Twitter and Facebook.
Back to this weekend’s thirty first round matches and they commence on Friday evening when East Stirlingshire entertain Fort William while Cumbernauld Colts welcome Buckie Thistle to Broadwood.
Twenty six ties then take place on Saturday afternoon, local interest coming in the shape of Brechin City who play Vale of Leithen currently bottom and pointless in the Lowland League at Glebe Park, while Perth based East of Scotland League outfit Jeanfield Swifts have a tricky away clash at Inverurie Loco Works.
Ainslie Park in Edinburgh which is due to host Edinburgh City against Stirling Albion in the cinch league2 on Friday evening, prior to Spartans cup tie against Gala Fairydean on Saturday will make it three in a row when the same venue is utilised as Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale face up to Edinburgh University on Sunday afternoon.
Tie number thirty takes place on Monday evening when Stuart Malcolm’s Berwick Rangers welcome Lowland League compatriots Gretna 2008 to Shielfield Park in a match due to be televised live on the BBC Scotland channel.
Incidentally if any of this weekend’s first round fixtures end all square after ninety minutes, a replay will take place at some point the following week.
