Bill Shepherd

Forfar Athletic officials were saddened to hear of the recent death of lifelong ‘Loons’ fan William (Bill) Shepherd at the age of 92.

Bill a ‘weel kent’ postman in the town for many a year was in all probability pre pandemic the Athies oldest match day supporter, still as his 90^th birthday approached a Station Park regular.

He must also have been one of the longest serving season ticket holders and was always first in the queue to purchase 250 Club tickets and the like.

For season after season he was to be found in all weathers on match days alongside his great friend the late Dave Patullo leaning on their barrier high on the West Terracing, although latterly Bill took shelter in a stand seat.

Our sympathies are extended to his wife Cathie and family at this sad time.
