Thank You Snow Much!
[Saturday, 19 February 2022 21:03]
A huge thank you to everyone who helped to clear the Station Park pitch and terracing to allow today's match against Kelty Hearts to go ahead. Of course, three points for the Loons made all the effort worthwhile!
The band of volunteers, along with a number of Club Directors, and Groundsman Martin Gray worked tirelessly from early morning through to early afternoon to make sure the surface was playable come 3 pm. This hard work set the scene for a fantastic afternoon under blue skies at Station Park with a merited win for the home side.
The Board would like to say thank you to Steve Middleton, Alick Archibald, Fraser Watt, James and Beau Taylor, Lauren and Nicole Milne, Bob Charlton and Ralph Stewart for giving up their Saturday morning to put in a hard shift at Station Park. It was truly a herculean task to move the snow and ice. There will no doubt be a few sore backs tomorrow but hopefully, these will be eased by the win and a few drinks in the 1984 Lounge post-match!
With the lads getting the three points a special word of thanks also to the coaching/management team who were without manager Gary Irvine again. Gary has been in hospital this week and is recovering from recent surgery. He is in good spirits and on the road to recovery but it maybe wasn't the best time for him to have a blood pressure check just when Matty Aitken’s goal went in!
Finally, we had a visit from David’s Drone Pictures as the pitch clear up was underway and he captured some great images which will be available to purchase.
Thank you once again to everyone and to the 670 supporters who contributed to a great atmosphere this afternoon.
