100 Not Out for Andy
[Sunday, 27 March 2022 12:49]
Club Chairman, Scott Murdie, recognised another achievement for the Loons squad yesterday when he presented Andy Munro with a shirt to mark 100 games for the Loons.
This season has been a memorable one for Andy not only, as would be expected, for his solid defensive displays but also for his goal-scoring exploits. Andy has bagged nine for the season which sees him second on the Loons goalscoring charts from 34 appearances.
Andy first joined Forfar Athletic in July 2016 from Arbroath going on to make 62 appearances until he left for Stenhousemuir in the summer of 2019. Returning to Station Park in February 2021 he has now featured in a total of 103 matches with his status as a fans' favourite firmly established. His achievements have been rewarded with a number of sponsors man of the match awards.
Never one to hide on the pitch Andy always gives 100% effort and commitment and has added 13 goals to his Club record, not to mention some tremendous celebrations! Here's hoping he can get into double figures by the end of the season!
Well done to Andy from everyone at Forfar Athletic.
Andy is the fourth member of the current squad to reach the 100 mark alongside fellow defenders Ross Meechan (140) and Darren Whyte (108). By far the leading appearance holder though is goalkeeper Marc McCallum who is closing in on 200 appearances and a coveted commemorative shirt! That gives the Loons defence an amazing 539 appearances between them!
