Sportsman’s Dinner

Forfar Athletic finally staged their 25^th Sportman’s Dinner following a three year plus wait in the Strathmore Hall on Friday night.

Despite the change of venue from the still unavailable Reid Hall and also a change of date from the normal late Spring timing, 230 patrons enjoyed an excellent evening combining good food, a ‘glass or two’ and two excellent entertainers.

At the same time the club funds received a much needed boost.

Thanks once again to Mrs Girdwood and her staff for an excellent meal, speakers George McNeill and John Stiles for their contribution and also to compere Rodger Brunton.

Most importantly a big thank you to all who assisted in the organisation of the event and of course all those who backed the club by being present on the night, at the same time supporting the auction and raffle to some effect!

It is a real bonus to ‘Loons’ officials that we are now able to get these vital fund raising ventures back up and running, the Dinner following on from a successful Golf Day five weeks back.
