Jim Brown
[Friday, 16 December 2022 16:34]
Many Forfar Athletic supporters would have been saddened to hear of the sudden death last weekend of Jim Brown from Newtyle.
Jim who was a lifelong ‘Loons’ fan and Supporters Club member was a welcoming and cheery face at each home game in recent years selling the 50/50 tickets on match days in all weathers at the main turnstile block.
In fact he was in post at our last home game against Albion Rovers.
Jim was also a talented musician and raconteur, in fact a founder member of the well-known Foundry Bar Band and provided the entertainment at quite a few club functions within the 1984 Lounge in recent years.
He spent most of his working life with D.C. Thomson in Dundee.
At this sad time the thoughts of all connected with Forfar Athletic are with his wife Nan and family.
Jim a real gentleman with a word and a smile for everyone, will indeed be sorely missed by many.
His funeral service will be held at Glamis Church on Wednesday of next week at 1 p.m., before proceeding to Parkgrove Crematorium at 2.30 p.m.
