‘Loons’ supporters will be delighted with the latest positive piece of news on the playing front at Station Park.
After discussions with Ray McKinnon, fans favourite Andy Munro has put pen to paper on a one year contract extension which covers the 2023/4 season.
Andy arrived at Forfar for the first time from Arbroath in the summer of 2016 moving on to Stenhousemuir for a modest fee in January of 2019 after at the time 18 months of fairly sporadic appearances due to injury and loss of form.
However exactly two years later the big defender returned to Station Park from the ‘Warriors’, a similar fee being exchanged, signing a two and a half year contract which was due to expire in June of this year.
Since his return Andy has been a first team regular, last season participating in 38 fixtures and notching 9 goals into the bargain.
His 25 starting appearances this term have seem him breach the 120 appearance mark for the club and the manager undoubtedly sees him as pivotal part of the plans he is putting in place for both the short and longer term future of the club.
