Forfar made it 6 unbeaten as they ground out a draw against high-flying title challengers Stirling Albion.
After much hype during the week, a goalless draw was bound to be the result but, for the first half at least, it looked as though the Binos would put Forfar to the sword.
Forfar survived the best chance of the game in the 17th minute when Robert Thomson was all alone in the Forfar box but he saw his header rebound off the post and into the arms of the grateful Marc McCallum.
McCallum would be made to work harder four minutes later when Dale Carrick found himself in space and toe-poked the ball towards the goal. The stopper did well to get down and push wide.
McCallum would again be called into action on the stroke of halftime when Carrick again had space. He saved the front man’s shot but it looked as though Thomson would have an open goal. Fortunately, though, the ball drifted too far wide for the tap in and the ball struck the base of the post.
Ray McKinnon admitted his side were lucky to head into the break level but made a much better game of it in the second half and limited the chances of the visitors after a flurry of opportunities at the very start of the half.
The Loons even looked like they could have snatched the points when Nathan Flanagan went on a slaloming run but his deflected shot cannoned just wide.
The ever-impressive Marc McCallum was dominant in his box as the visitors pushed balls into the area in search of a winner.
The point means the Loons keep pace with those around them and they travel to Bonnyrigg on Tuesday knowing a win is needed to keep their playoff destiny firmly in their own control.
