Another tense and hard-fought ninety minutes at Station Park yesterday with the home side and their fans perhaps content with the point at the end of the day, especially after being on the back foot for most of the first half in particular.
At the risk of repetition, nevertheless a big pat on the back to the home supporters who again turned out in numbers well in excess of early season games to back the Athies and to the more than reasonable away support which led to the biggest crowd of the season so far at Station Park.
Thanks to our match sponsor Aberdeen-based Well-Safe Solutions, the second season running that they have supported the club in this manner.
There is a strong Forfar connection within the company with Managing Director Phil Milton having been a resident of the town for many a year.
Phil and his party seemed to have thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon and chose Marc McCallum as their ‘Loons’ Man of the Match.
On to the hospitality lounges and again there seemed to be a great ‘buzz’ around the complex as a whole.
Thanks to the Taylor Family and Friends and to Louise in particular who is the organiser in chief for their support, as ever they occupied both the Houston and Kennedy Lounges.
Thank you as well to the party of ‘weel kent’ faces masquerading as bowlers from the Canmore and to Bill and Malloch Nicoll for their support in this regard.
Finally Jane Rae and her party who certainly added to the ambience and atmosphere in the 1984 Lounge.
It will be March 18th, before the Forfar players tread the Station Park ‘boards’ again, prior to that Bonnyrigg beckons on Tuesday evening, before Saturday outings to East Fife and Dumbarton.
