Annual Sportsman’s Dinner
[Tuesday, 28 February 2023 10:03]
Following on the successful return après covid and staging of what was the club’s 25th Sportsman’s Dinner in September of last year, this year’s event will take place on Saturday 10th June, back ‘home’ in the Reid Hall which is once again available for staging such events.
Despite for various reasons the change from what had for years been a traditional May month slot for the Dinner and the then necessity of a move to a Saturday evening , response to date from club sponsors and past patrons of the event has been tremendous.
So much so that only three tables of ten remain available before the ‘full house’ notice is posted, to be fair not for the first occasion at this highly popular and major fund raising event over the years for the club.
The entertainment line up for the night is;-
Frank McAVENNIE – The former St. Mirren, West Ham United and Celtic striker is a regular on the after dinner circuit and will be making his Reid Hall debut in June.
ERIC DAVIDSON – The wee man from Newtongrange, these days renowned for his award winning one man show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe will be returning with his unique brand of humour and song.
JOHN McKELVIE – On this occasion, the Lanarkshire based former policeman will be acting as our Master of Ceremonies for the evening.
A all in this day and age we live in realise costs continue to rise, but the charge for a table of ten remains at hopefully a reasonable figure of £500.
This is inclusive of a two course set meal, followed by a selection of various cheeses, tea and coffee.
