East Fife 1 Forfar Athletic 1

Yesterday's 1-1 draw was perhaps the fair result with the Loons having the better first half and deservedly were ahead at halftime through Matty Allan’s headed goal on 34 minutes from a Tomas Brindley cross.
In the second half East Fife came out all guns blazing and attacked from the whistle both Trouten and Austin causing a few scares.
However, the Forfar defence which has become a formidable unit this season stood strong and dealt with anything thrown at them as the Loons continued to push for a second goal however it wasn’t to be despite both McLean and Skelly’s efforts.
Marc McCallum produced another ‘worldie’ save not quite as top-drawer as his amazing save against Clyde on Tuesday but this time using his body to block a shot when it looked certain for Trouten to score.
The pace of the game had certainly increased from the first half and East Fife were awarded a penalty in the 71st minute.
Yet another long ball was played into the Loons box which wasn’t cleared it ricocheted off Brindley and landed between Trouten and McCallum who both went for the ball but the referee judged Trouten was fouled as they both met on impact. Trouten duly converted the spot kick.
Fresh legs were introduced by both teams but the substitutions didn’t change the game and it ended in a draw.
