Forfar Athletic 2 East Fife 1

Forfar made sure there would be no nervous end to the season with a comeback victory over East Fife.
The Loons were boosted by the return of talisman Stuart Morrison to the starting lineup up but he and his colleagues could not stop East Fife from taking the lead after 31 minutes.
Full-back Liam Newton picked up on a scrap in the box and did well to jink past a defender and slot underneath Marc McCallum, despite the best efforts of Matty Allan on the line.
The Loons had an opportunity to level when Russell McLean flicked on a cross for Allan but his shot could only find the side netting from a narrow angle.
The first half was one of poor quality but the Loons were revitalised in the second and equalised on the hour mark. A spectacular cross from Roberto Nditi was headed goalward by McLean. A brilliant save from East Fife keeper Alan Fleming was not enough to prevent the big striker from tapping in the rebound.
The goal spurred the hosts on and they almost found a second three minutes later but Rayan Mohammed headed inches wide.
The second goal did come after 72 minutes. Morrison picked up the ball on the halfway line and beat three men before delivering an inch-perfect cross for McLean who nodded in his second.
The Loons passed up a couple of opportunities to seal the game with Tyler Mykyta and Mohammed being unable to convert from close range but the Loons held on to secure a big three points, which coupled with Clyde’s draw against the champions Stenny, means the Loons are now safe from the drop and can start to build towards next season.
