MORRISON COMMITS TO THE LOONS

Manager Ray McKinnon is delighted to confirm that last season’s top scorer and player of the year Stuart Morrison has signed a two-year extension with the club, tying him to the Loons until at least 2026.
The signing of Stuart is of course a major coup for the club.
The 25-year-old Fife-based midfield player had not surprisingly attracted attention from quite a few clubs following an outstanding first season in ‘Loons’ colours.
During the campaign, he only missed three games all through suspension following a couple of harsh red card decisions.
Not only did he end up the club’s leading scorer with ten goals, but to the surprise of no one, he deservedly was the choice of both the Supporters and his colleagues as their respective Player of the Year.
The Athies manager who worked with Stuart during their time together at Queens Park is naturally thrilled that he has managed to convince Stuart to remain at Station Park for a further two years, despite the interest from higher echelons within the Scottish game.
Ray commented ‘Stuart has thoroughly enjoyed his first campaign at Forfar, though like all would have been happier with a few more victories under our belt. He has bought into what we are trying to achieve in time at the club and I would like to thank the Directors for their backing in getting this deal over the line so soon after the conclusion of the season.’
Stuart is the first to sign up for the new season and it is hoped another couple of players will sign on the dotted line in the near future.
