Forfar Athletic v Annan Athletic - Match Information
[Tuesday, 17 February 2026 15:59]

It was all so ironic on Saturday past when on one of the best days as far as overhead weather was concerned of the year to date, the ‘Loons’ scheduled William Hill League2 fixture up at Elgin failed to survive a mid morning inspection following overnight frost in Morayshire. It meant a wasted journey for the ‘Loons’ management staff and players to Forfar from ‘a the airts’ as they say, the only consolation the fact that word of the postponement was received just as departure time for the team coach from the Alpha Projects Stadium @ Station Park was imminent.
This means that the Athies now have two outstanding away fixtures to fit in on a midweek slot, the other a trip to the Capital City to face league leaders the Spartans.
Hopefully there will be no weather worries this coming Saturday when Annan Athletic are the visitors to the Alpha Projects Stadium @ Station Park. Willie Gibson’s side in fact completed two league fixtures last week both at home winning 1-0 in midweek against Dumbarton, before losing out by a 4-2 score line to visitors East Kilbride on Saturday past. The ’Loons’ and the Galabank outfit now sit side by side in the current league standings on the 27 point mark from 23 completed games, a fact that adds some spice if any was needed to Saturday’s encounter.
The match on Saturday will have the usual 3pm. kick-off.
