Forfar Athletic v Edinburgh City - Match Information
[Tuesday, 21 April 2026 10:29]

Three wins from three outings in the month of April have propelled the ‘Loons’ into fourth position in the William Hill league2 table and with it a real opportunity to clinch the final spot in the end of season League1 play-offs. As matters stand at present four points from the final two games is the requirement to attain a place in the early May ‘whirlwind’ that the play-offs undoubtedly are with potentially four games in a ten day period.
The first hurdle for Jim Weir and his players in achieving that aim comes with our final scheduled home league fixture of the season on Saturday first when Edinburgh City are the visitors to the Alpha Projects Stadium @ Station Park. To say all four competitive games between the ‘Loons’ and the ‘Citizens’ during the course of this season have been close affairs would be an understatement and this Saturday is likely to be no different.
The Capital City side began this season with a fifteen point penalty which at one point in the campaign they looked likely to overcome but it has not turned out that way and the Pyramid Play-off fixture awaits. They have had a disappointing run it has to be said in recent weeks, with manager Michael McIndoe resting a few players in his squad for bigger ‘fish to fry’ as well as having to cope with injury and illness to others. He did however hint in an after match interview on Saturday past that quite a few of those first team regulars would return to the ranks this coming weekend.
It all adds up to an intriguing ninety minutes ahead and for the second season running a challenging last home league game for Stuart Morrison and his colleagues, thankfully on this occasion at the right end of the table.
Hopefully the home support will turn out in good numbers and in fine voice for the occasion, the kick-off as usual at 3pm.
