Saints hit four in pre-season clash

A strong St. Johnstone outfit, not surprisingly, proved too strong for the ‘Loons’ in a pre-season joust at the Parkgrove Stadium @ Station Park on Tuesday evening.

The fixture drew an excellent midweek attendance of 596, a fair few making the trip from the Fair City.

The visitors were three up at the break, their marksmen Sam Stanton, Kai Fotheringham and Josh Fowler.  Taylor Steven added a fourth in the second period.

Home manager Jim Weir was restricted in the selection of his side on the night due to a combination of injuries and holiday commitments, with Matty Allan, Blair Alston, Aaron Arnott and Craig Slater ruled out.  However, the Athies players on show got some very valuable game time under their belt against the Premiership side.

Ross MacLean and Scott Shepherd entered the fray from the bench in the second period alongside a few trialists.
