Of The Loons
Despite taking the lead on two occasions, the final outcome in the ‘Loons’ latest pre-season friendly ended with four goals shared against impressive Highland League outfit Banks O’Dee at the Parkgrove Stadium @ Station Park this afternoon.
The home side took the lead in the first period in front of a crowd of just over 200 thanks to a superb strike from Blair Alston, but their Granite City opponents had drawn level by the interval.
In what was a fairly even, though hard-fought second half, Jake Dolzanski restored the Athies' one-goal advantage with a deft header from a right-wing corner, but the ‘Dee’ were not to be denied and got a deserved equaliser as the final whistle approached.
Jim Weir’s side conclude their pre-season programme with a visit from Peterhead on Tuesday evening of next week, before heading to Ochilview and a clash with now Championship outfit Stenhousemuir in the opening game of their Premier Sports Cup campaign on Saturday the 11th.
Forfar’s starting line-up this afternoon was:

2 – Lynas
3 – Livingstone
6 – Dolazanski

10 - Rennie
11 - Brown
14 – Mailer
15 – Lemon
18 – Wilson
26 – Alston
Jamie Richardson, Ross MacLean and Tyler Pasnik entered the fray from the bench in the second period alongside a few of the club’s Under 20 squad.
